My Students

My students come from a high-poverty area. They face many challenges at home and in school. Many of them are lacking in basic school supplies. Most are low academically, but they come to school every day, ready and eager to learn.

I want my students to have the best third-grade experience possible.

Our school budget is very small, and I buy a lot of materials myself. I need some help to give my students what they need to be more successful in the classroom. I cannot control what my students experience outside of school, but, while they are in my classroom, I strive to provide them with everything I can to make them feel cared for and successful.

My Project

As I begin planning for next year, I am asking for headphones for my classroom. In the past, we have used a community set of headphones. However, with COVID still lingering, I would like to have enough headphones for every student to have their own pair.

Individual pairs of headphones will help my students get the most out of their Chromebooks and our listening center.

We use Chromebooks daily in our classroom to access additional support for math and reading. These headphones will ensure that all students can hear their enrichment activities.
