My Students

My students live in a low-income neighborhood that does not offer many opportunities to grow outside of the school. Our school is 98% African American and over 90% low income. Many students come to school every day without supplies.

At our school, we try to BE the Difference.

Our school is a safe and stable environment for our students. We provide motivation and encouragement on a daily basis.

We provide our students with opportunities to learn world languages, art, dance, and music. Also, core subjects of reading, math, science, and social studies.

My Project

We recently switched one on one technology and took steps to personalized learning. In a personalized learning environment, students will be mastering different tasks through a variety of activities which can become quite noisy as computers can be playing simultaneously on various programs.

Help my students reduce outside noise and focus on personalized instruction.

The use of headphones will allow my students to remain focused on the learning in front of them. The use of headphones will also allow my students to practice calming techniques that will keep them on task and minimize outside noise that will distract students.
