Hear Us Roar: Growing a Lion’s Legacy

Help me give my students a chance to start their own garden! We are starting from the ground up with our garden including the raised beds which is our most expensive item on the list.

My Project

Our students are excited to launch a new initiative called "The Lion’s Garden: Growing with Pride." Together, we are starting a school garden to provide hands-on learning experiences and support our campus community. Many of our students love spending time outdoors and are passionate about helping others. We currently have a food pantry on campus that serves students and families in need, and by growing fruits and vegetables, we hope to supplement it with fresh, healthy produce. This project will teach our students critical life skills while allowing them to make a tangible, positive difference for their peers.

Located in an urban area, most of our students have limited opportunities to grow their own food or learn about agriculture.

The Lion’s Garden will give them the chance to experience the full cycle of planting, maintaining, and harvesting crops. They will learn where food comes from, how much care and effort it takes to produce it, and why access to fresh food is important for health and well-being. Gardening will also help students develop important skills like teamwork, responsibility, and problem-solving.

The materials we are requesting — including soil, gardening tools, raised beds, and other start-up supplies — will help bring this project to life. With your support, we can provide students with a unique, meaningful learning experience that fosters pride, service, and resilience. Every donation, no matter the size, will directly impact our students by helping them grow — not just plants, but also their sense of connection, leadership, and purpose.
