This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, curious, and eager to learn! They come to school each day ready to tackle new challenges and explore the world through books, technology, and hands-on experiences. Many of them come from low-income households and rely on our classroom to access the tools and support they need to succeed. Right now, students often work with no headphones or share old, broken pairs that don’t always work. This causes distractions, frustration, and makes it harder for them to learn.

We use digital learning programs daily to meet each student at their own level—whether it's building reading fluency, practicing math skills and writing proficiency.

This project will support students with IEPs who will benefit from audio accommodations such as text-to-speech or spoken instructions. Headphones will allow students to use learning programs at their own pace, tailored to their individual skill levels.

Funding this project will give my students access to learning tools that are tailored to the digital age that will give them edge in future grades. With this project it will help reduce distractions during independent work time and help students better engage with audio-based lessons and digital platforms. This may seem like a small item, but it has a huge impact. With your support, my students will be able to focus, learn, and thrive—one pair of headphones at a time.
