This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an incredible group of fourth graders from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Many are dual language learners working hard to strengthen their reading, writing, and communication skills.

I’m requesting headphones so students can access audiobooks, translation tools, and learning platforms to support literacy and language development.

A classroom tablet will help them look up spelling and definitions independently. I’m also requesting social-emotional items to create a calm-down space where students can regulate emotions and refocus. These tools will help every student feel supported, confident, and ready to learn.
