My Students
My students are vibrant 1st graders full of energy and fun! My school is a Title 1 school where almost all my students qualify for free lunch, it means we are often tight on resources but not on creativity. I love teaching at Shuman with other teachers who go above and beyond to support our early learners with creative lessons and ingenious ways of offering our students the best education possible. I love 1st grade because they are so curious and energetic, virtual learning has been a new experience for all of us but it gives me the opportunity to really see their individual personalities.
My Project
My students are very young and just learning the early imperative skills to be able to read. Understanding sounds and phonetics requires a keen listening ability that many young students don’t possess especially in a busy home or daycare environment. These headphones will allow them to hear reading instruction properly in a variety of settings. They will also enable students to be heard And ensure each child is receiving accurate and appropriate feed back. Learning to read is the most important foundational skill students can possess. Won’t you help us?
