Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Providing snacks for my kindergarten through 5th grade struggling readers will support both their academic progress and overall well-being. Many of my students face long stretches between meals, with some having lunch as early as 10 a.m. or as late as 1 p.m., making it difficult for them to stay focused and engaged during reading instruction. Since 100% of my students receive free breakfast and lunch, it's clear that food insecurity is a real concern, and a healthy snack can make a big difference in their ability to concentrate, stay motivated, and participate actively in learning. By helping to meet this basic need, snacks will create a more equitable and supportive learning environment where students can thrive.
