My Students

My students are from the inner city. They are predominately African American and are surrounded by challenges every day. Many of my students are living in severe poverty. Their spirits long to be free and rejoice, which is exactly what the cheer team does. Providing the cheer team at the school gives access for the students to be a part of a positive, learning, team building, and communication skills.

Despite the odds, my students find hope through doing the cheer team.

I admire their creativity to invent new things. Given an opportunity, the cheer team can help my students with academics and become productive members of society in the future.

My Project

Students who are feed healthy snacks can learn better than students who are hungry. My students eat in small amounts several times per day. I hope to have students focus on learning instead of the feeling of being hungry. Having a little snack to give to them can make a big difference in their performance at school.

Please help me to give the students a snack, so that more learning will take place. Currently, students have come to me and let it be known that they are hungry. My goal is to reenergize the students, so they can make it through the school day.
