My Students
Our school is in a town of less than twenty thousand and all of our students get free lunch. Our district has a great technology center where my kids have learned valuable skills in construction, auto tech, welding, and more.
My students are great kids that happen to have learning difficulties.
As students with special needs, all of my kids have learning gaps. They all need individualized instruction to close the gap between where they are and where they need to be academically. Please help them continue to close their academic gaps so they will be ready for college and careers after graduation!
My Project
My students often complain of being hungry. So many of them live in poverty that the whole school gets free breakfast and lunch. However, class starts just before 8:00 and some of them don't have lunch until almost 1:00. This is a long stretch go without eating for students who may have limited access to nutritious food at home. Everyday, students ask if I have food because they are hungry. It is hard to concentrate on learning the lessons of the day with grumbling bellies. Please help me provide healthy snacks for them so that they can concentrate on learning.
