My Project

Many of our students live in poverty and cannot afford food. They depend on the free breakfast and lunch that they receive during the school day. However, for growing children this is simply not enough. Students who want to stay after school for extra help, clubs, or sports are hungry by the end of the regular school day.

This is where my project comes into play.

The snacks I receive from this project will supply our students with the extra food they need to cure their hunger needs and participate in the clubs, tutoring sessions, and sports that are offered after school in an effort to help them to become the best and most well-rounded person that they can be. My students are always asking me to stay after school whether it be for extra help, clubs or sports. They crave the connection to our school community which gives them a safe place to be.
