This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students face significant challenges, both inside and outside the classroom. Many of our children come from low-income families, and food insecurity is a harsh reality for them.

With recent cuts to state funding for school snacks, our students are at risk of not receiving the nutrition they need to stay focused and succeed academically.

Healthy snacks are more than just food; they are fuel for learning, energy for play, and the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. As the Wellness Center Coordinator, I see firsthand how hunger affects our students. It's heartbreaking to watch a child struggle to focus or regulate their big feelings because they haven't had enough to eat.

By providing something as simple as a healthy snack, we are not just feeding their bodies but also nurturing their minds and spirits. Our students deserve the chance to thrive, and with your help, we can make sure they have the nutrition they need to reach their full potential.
