This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach bilingual students at a Title I school in Houston, Texas. The students all qualify for the free lunch program. They come from low-income families and have limited opportunities for the use of technology.

I want to have exercise equipment for my students to use during recess and healthy snack to keep them motivated during the day.

Students love recess but what a better way to give them that free time and also see they are exercising. That will keep them healthy and eager to learn. I need supplies in the classroom to make this possible. I also want to keep my students motivated so I want to have healthy treats.

My Project

My first graders are full of energy, they need to exercise daily in order to stay healthy and learn at school.

By providing my students with equipment to use during recess and healthy snacks, I am sure they will improve their academic performance.

Last year they had to miss a lot by staying home due to COVID, this year I want to make sure they get the instruction they need but also keep them healthy. They need supplies to exercise either indoors or outdoors, they are very active kids. Thanks for your support.
