Healthy Smiles Makes for a Happy Heart!

My students need the basic tools to emulate a healthy lifestyle. We need dental floss, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

My Students

Lead by example is our classroom philosophy.

My students are smart, spirited, and empathetic.

Most of my students who follow the healthcare career path want to help others.

Students spend the year developing a basic skill set as future health care workers.

The learning is built on a foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they move forward to advanced in their studies.

My students have a greater understanding that as future health care workers they need to emulate healthy habits.

My Project

My students will learn how to effectively brush and floss.

Research indicates that sugars from left over foods cause tooth decay.

Effective brushing and flossing helps balance pH levels in the mouth thus decreasing the incidence of tooth decay.

Students are eager to learn new skills that they can then teach and share with their peers.

Most of the students in our school eat breakfast at school and do not have the opportunity to brush after their meal. Some of the food choices contain high levels of sugar.

As life long learners, students will acquire the necessary skills to emulate a healthy lifestyle.
