Help me give my students essential classroom supplies like cleaning wipes, tissues and snacks. These items will keep our learning environment clean, healthy, and students energized, allowing them to stay focused and succeed academically.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The specific items, I’m requesting,—tissues, cleaning supplies, and snacks—are essential to creating a classroom environment where students can focus on learning without unnecessary distractions. Many of my students live below the poverty line and are unable to contribute to classroom necessities such as tissues and cleaning supplies. This makes it difficult to maintain a clean and comfortable space for everyone. By providing tissues and cleaning wipes, we can help prevent the spread of germs, reduce absences due to illness, and ensure that students can stay focused on their lessons, not on discomfort or sickness.
In addition to cleaning supplies, snacks play a critical role in supporting my students’ success.
I teach over 90 students, and many of them come to school hungry, with little access to food outside of school. Hunger is a significant barrier to concentration and learning. I do my best to provide weekly snacks, but with your support, we can ensure students have the energy to stay engaged throughout the day, especially during long stretches between meals.
My goal for this project is to provide the basic supplies needed to create a healthy and supportive learning environment for all students. These supplies will help keep students healthy, focused, and ready to learn, while also easing the burden on families who may be unable to contribute. My students are resilient and determined despite facing challenges at home, and this project will help them thrive academically by removing some of the obstacles they face.
