This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Physical Education to a variety of intellectual students from Gifted, English Language Learners, Exceptional student population, and everything in between. My students are inquisitive and love hands-on activities. Many of my students live in high-rise buildings where there is limited green space for them to play or exercise. Academically, my students are high achievers. However, with such high demand on academic performance, little time is devoted to their physical development.

My quest is to teach them about staying fit so they can live long, healthy lives.

My Project

Since the pandemic started, many of my students have had about a year and a half of online learning. Sitting in front of a computer most of the day has caused my students to lose muscle tone and stamina from inactivity. By incorporating fitness activities into my physical education class, I plan to get my students back into shape.

Using the Fitness Multi-Workout Bench, I will engage my students in learning exercises to strengthen their core abdominal muscles along with their supportive back muscles.

Additionally, these benches will supplement their workout and empower them to stay active.
