Healthy Kinders Need Water!

My Students

When most people go to work, they are greeted by a computer, a register, or a telephone. I get greeted by tiny, smiling faces that are eager to learn. These amazing students are the reason I gladly stay till five at night, come in on the weekends, and toss and turn at night thinking about their successes and areas of improvement.

There is growing scientific evidence that shows students environments greatly impact their ability to learn and their test scores.

My goal is to create a classroom environment and provide supplies that help students thrive to the best of their ability. My students are kind, giving, happy and dedicated to their education. Knowing that cheeseburgers are my favorite food, I often hear "Mrs. Crane, meet me in the cafeteria, cheeseburgers are on the menu today. You can share mine with me!" They have pride in who they are, how hard they work at school, and the bond we have made. At my school, more than half of our students are economically disadvantaged, and many come from foster programs and/or are English language learners. Thank you for considering donating to our school family!

My Project

We are learning a lot about what students need to thrive during these hard times. Something I looked past all these years was the convince of water fountains in classrooms and at school. For safety reasons all have been shut down and students are in need of personal water bottles at their desks. We are still participating in things like PE, Go Noodle, stretching, Friday dance parties and more, all of which make the students very thirsty. I am asking for water bottles for each student to keep at their desk that I can quickly and easily refill. Water is a huge part of a healthy lifestyle and we are trying to teach habits at an early age and this will be a great start.
