My Students
My students are intelligent, respectful of themselves, each other and our staff and faculty. It's great working with so many of the kids in my city. I really enjoy their curiosity and enthusiasm to learn and understand to the best of their abilities.
My Project
Our kids have been cooped up inside their homes. My project is created to get them out to our nearby creek and explore the water's chemical properties and to teach students what indicators to test for, in order to ascertain how clean the water is.
This project gives students a chance to test water samples along various locations on the creek, to compare dissolved oxygen samples along the creek; a very important indicator of water pollution, and the overall health of every fresh water system with probes.
Students will learn about their local Watershed, by visiting the creek area. Among other things, they also get a chance to be in a quiet area, surrounded by native plants. All in all, it's an opportunity to get these our students outside.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
