My students need a double burner hotplate, pots and pans along with some other cooking supplies to help make our cooking unit a little easier. We are learning about nutrition and healthy eating.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is right in the middle of a wonderful Agricultural community, so our students see agriculture every day. We work hard in our school garden to ensure that the crops we plant will be successful at growing into healthy, bountiful crops.

Our students come from hard working families, so they too are very hard-working.

They want our garden to be beautiful and successful so they work hard at planting, weeding, watering, fertilizing and harvesting. We love our school garden!

My Project

Having the proper utensils for our cooking unit will make things so much easier for us to explore the vast number of ways to prepare the fruit and vegetables we grow in our school garden! The bowls and spoons will make it so nice to be able to make fresh salads with the fruit and veggies we grow. The double burner hotplate and pots will allow us to learn how to cook the squash, tomatoes and peppers into a delicious chutney/salsa.

My students love to eat the fresh fruit and veggies we grow right out of the garden but I am so excited to show them how delicious those same fruit and veggies can be when cooked!
