This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These little learners love to be at school. They love to learn, and they love being an important part of their community. Nearly all the students that attend our school live in low-income households. Despite the enormous challenges they face on a daily basis, they come to school, work hard, and continually push to make everyone they love and care about proud.
When the students feel hungry, they have difficulty focusing on anything except the fact that they need to eat, but a good supply of readily available snacks will help keep them focused throughout the school day and beyond.
By providing them with snacks you will be helping them avoid the uncomfortable feelings in hungry tummies that rob them of their focus and attention. Also the prepackaged treats and snacks will allow me to send a snack home with them at the end of the day to help keep their tummies happy more often.
Students need to be present in the classroom in order to learn. If they become ill, they miss out on critical lessons. I want to proactively avoid that loss of learning time. Routine cleaning of high touch areas will help to prevent the spread of germs so students can stay healthy and miss fewer days of school. The baby wipes in this project will make this routine cleaning possible.
