My Students
My 1st grade class is made up of 25 very diverse students. They speak different languages and many come from low income homes or are new to the country so communicating is difficult. They are hard working and are always willing to try. They love to laugh, learn and help eachother.
With all of the changes in their young lives they are still not giving up.
Their world is never the same from day to day but they still work hard at learning. We always remember that it's okay to make mistakes. "Mistakes are proof you are trying"!
My Project
With these materials I will be able to help my students stay healthy and much more focused. Their young lives have been filled with a lot of uncertainty that makes them, very anxious. With the headphones their working environment stays quiet. With fidget bands they can focus, and with all of the cleaning supplies they can feel safe at school.
When the day ends they will calm when we sit and read the magical stories.
This is preparation to going home to the unknown illnesses, food or lack thereof, and environments they face every day.
