My students need supplies to keep us clean and healthy in the classroom. We need a vacuum cleaner, Clorox wipes, and hand sanitizer which will help us stay healthy and happy!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to come to school to learn and experience all that we do in Third Grade. But our room can get dirty, dusty, and germy! Due to lack of funding for supplies and personnel, we have trouble keeping our room clean. Our classroom rug, which is used throughout the day, is rarely vacuumed, and almost never cleaned. I do try, however using a broom and tiny dust buster doesn't work that well. With a vacuum in the classroom, the rug will be kept clean on a regular basis. We have breakfast in the classroom (required), and having the Clorox wipes will definitely help keep their desks clean (and reduce the bugs that food attracts)! Having in-house antibacterial soap will make a big difference in spreading germs throughout the classroom.

We are a Title I, low-performing school with a majority of English Language Learners.

I have a wonderful group of 25 third-graders. I really want to give them an environment that is clean and healthy. Having access to these items will help keep my students healthy, which will help reduce absenteeism and maximize learning time.

My Project

The vacuum, Clorox wipes, and antibacterial soap will go a long way towards keeping our classroom clean, my students healthy, and the opportunity to learn in a safe and healthy environment.

A clean and healthy classroom will lead to better attendance and more access to learning.

In addition, cleaning up after themselves will teach them to be responsible and good citizens for our classroom, our school, and our community. It will help them feel proud of themselves, because they can care for their school! If our project gets funded, I know that my students and their families will be so grateful!
