Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project has a wide range of supply requests due to the needs of my students’ physical and emotional health as well as my own. Here you will see everything from office supplies to instrument equipment and public health needs. As the Music Teacher, I see the ENTIRE student body throughout a standard school week. This means that not only am I exposed to every germ and sickness, but my students are as well. I am also immunocompromised and often fall sick during cold season and sometimes cannot be there for my students when that happens. I put an air purifier on this list to help keep me healthy so I can spend more time in the classroom, but also keep my students healthy so they can spend more time at school! My students love to learn and explore in music class, and I feel quite privileged to be a teacher that they want to spend time with and learn from. The other items in this project were carefully chosen to help us continue to practice music with the right equipment, proper organization, a welcoming and positive environment, and essential materials to keep us healthy while we learn. When students feel healthy and safe, they can do incredible things. My goal with this project is to help them reach every goal they set for themselves without limitation.
