Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am traveling from one school to another this school year. I will serve both schools. I have 21 students in my afternoon classroom for the 2018-2019 school year with a wide range of abilities, needs, and concerns. My students are in a low income/high poverty school in which more than 75% of the students receive free or reduced-price meals. I am in the process of setting up my new classroom and in need of some items. I want to make my new classroom as equipped and exciting to be in as the morning school classroom.
Despite some of the challenges they face in and around their environment, every year my students come to school excited, full of life, and eager to learn.
When children have a strong foundation of learning, they are able to stay on track to remain in school, graduate, and pursue post-secondary education and training to successfully transition into adulthood.
Children make this room their home for however long they stay and miss it dearly when they move on. No matter who enters through my classroom doors, they become part of our school family.
My Project
I use disinfectant wipes often. With 21 students in my class, our supplies exhaust quickly.
We like to keep the tables clean as we use them for small groups.
Teaching the students to keep clean and to stay healthy is very important in my classroom. I remind them to help me keep their work areas clean.
Also, if a student is sick, I wipe their area down very well to keep those germs away from the next child sitting in that desk. Germicide spray helps rid of viruses before they spread.
We use baby wipes in the restroom because my students are only 4 years old. We find that many of them find it easier to wipe themselves with wipes instead of toilet paper.
The magic erasers will keep our tables clean. Sometimes our 4 year old like to write on the tables.
The whiteboard sprays will help keep our dry eraser boards clean and ready for the next lesson.
These supplies will help keep my students healthy so that they can be present everyday to learn!
If you will donate money to help me get these cleaning supplies for my class, I will be very grateful!
