My students need play equipment to be active. They are fortunate to have access to iPads but are unable to print projects since we don't have the appropriate printers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten students are fortunate to have access to iPads on a daily basis. They use them to write and create art projects but our school does not have a compatible printer to print those projects. Although the school has play equipment, it is not age appropriate for my kindergarten students.
My kindergarten students attend an urban, low social economic school.
All my kindergarten students qualify for the free lunch program. My students prefer to sit on the benches instead of play in the yard since they do not have age appropriate equipment to use.
My Project
The resources I selected will give my kindergarten students an opportunity to learn fitness skills by teaching them different modalities. My students can use iPads but by having speakers, I will be able to engage my students by showing them child appropriate exercises as other students become active using the ladders and balance equipment. With the equipment I will place my student in small groups where I will teach my students different gross and fine motor skills.
After teaching my kindergarten students various skills and games I will have them write and draw about the activities they have learned. By having a printer that is compatible with the iPads, my students will be able to share their work with their families and classmates.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, childhood obesity has more than tripled over the past 30 years.
During recess the majority of my students sit on the bench than play sue to lack of energy and appropriate play equipment. I will use the play equipment and speakers to engage them in physical activities. I will teach them new games that they can play during recess and at home with other friends. I will use the printer to motivate my kindergarten students to write and read.
