it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are from a low socio-economic community in South Texas right across the border with Mexico. Every day I see the eagerness and devotion in my students face as they enter my classroom. Most have witnessed the hardships their families went through before coming to this country. These young individuals have family in Mexico and value our education system. The lack of English does not impede these kids from learning something new every day. On the contrary, they get excited to be learning a second language and to have these wonderful opportunities that are given to them.
My Project
A healthy and safe classroom environment is a crucial part of student learning. I want to provide a germ-free and clean classroom so that they don't get sick and have to miss school.
A clean and healthy classroom will prevent the spread of diseases.
As educators, we must instill the importance of healthy habits to our students at a young age. I want to start the year by teaching my students about the importance of good health habits. With the supplies on the list, they will be able to have clean learning environments on a daily basis. The students will also assist the custodians by making sure their working spaces are clean and ready for the next day of learning.
