This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our room has 24 curious, inquisitive, smart, and energetic students who love books, numbers, STEAM activities, and physical activity. I have to stay on my toes to continually replenish books in our classroom libraries, create engaging math lessons and STEAM activities, and provide interesting PE lessons.

100% of students at our school are eligible for the Free Lunch Program, and about 40% are identified English Language Learners.

Even so, any hardships that they might face will not impede their academic advancement.

My Project

These 7 sports balls, which include soccer, basketball, and volleyballs, will be put to good use. We will learn the rules of each sport, as well as many life lessons that come with sports, such as the importance of teamwork and determination.

Using the equipment, I will model how to use each sports ball.

Students will then have an opportunity to use the equipment, while I offer feedback in how they could specifically improve their technique. As I previously mentioned, engaging in these sports will promote teamwork and determination, but that is only the beginning. This physical activity will promote health and wellness. Studies show that increased physical activity could have a positive impact in classroom learning.
