This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are funny, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions. They come to school each day ready to try their best and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing assignments at home and at school because of lack of supplies and resources.

Our school is nestled in the heart of East Fresno, which has a large immigrant population. For many of my students, family income usually comes from seasonal work and therefore making it difficult to attain proper equipment for Physical Education.

Each student in my classroom absolutely loves learning new sports and ways to stay active. Although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and pair share and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have the students I have.

My Project

By receiving the materials requested, I will be able to create a variety of lessons suitable for all of my students. I will be able to modify activities so that students will be able to participate at their own skill level in order to build confidence and improve their physical capabilities.

For example, my students who are more self driven and more skillful can use the rebounder to practice their passing and moving.

This will allow me to pay closer attention to my students who may need a little more encouragement and or help improving their technique.
