Help me give my students the comfort of hygiene and cleaning products for our classroom and their personal use. Items such as bandages, facial tissue, Lysol spray, and hand sanitizer.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs reminds us that students' foundational physiological needs need to be met before they can focus on anything else in their lives. I often think about this as a geometry teacher and remind myself that their cleanliness, hygiene, and well-being take precedence to any mathematical learning that can take place in our classroom, and that is more than okay with me!
In fact, this project is created to provide cleaning and hygiene products for my students and our classroom, such as hand sanitizer, tissues, lotion, bandaids, paper towels, Clorox wipes for the desks, Lysol air spray to keep the room smelling fresh, and WD-40 to keep the White Boards working perfectly.
For some of my students, school is the only safe, clean space they know, and I want to ensure that our classroom provides all of the necessities needed for every student that enters, but especially for those who may not be getting these necessities anywhere else.
With that being said, thank you in advance for helping to fund and support my students' basic needs and well-being with this project.
