This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A large majority of our students are identified as “economically disadvantaged.” This means that for some of our students, there are certain aspects of wellness that they do not have control of (e.g. supplies for proper hygiene). Our school counseling team would like to host a Wellness Day by inviting local volunteers to come address different aspects of wellness with our students, such as proper nutrition, staying active, proper hygiene, mindfulness, and self-care. We are in need of deodorant, lotion, Band-Aids, tissues, and more.

After our wellness workshops, we would like to culminate our students' experience with a wellness kit so that they have some BASIC tools to practice health and wellness on their own.
