This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Integrating iPads into therapy sessions offers numerous benefits for students, especially those who have experienced trauma:
- Enhanced Engagement: Interactive apps can make therapeutic activities more engaging, encouraging active participation.
- Emotional Regulation: Apps designed for mindfulness and relaxation can help students manage stress and anxiety.
- Communication Support: For students with speech or language challenges, iPads can facilitate communication through augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) apps.
-Personalized Learning: Therapists can tailor activities to individual needs, promoting a more personalized therapeutic experience.
Fostering a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial, especially with students who are guarded, have selective mutism, or seek alternative approaches after extended therapy. Modern tools like gamified learning platforms (e.g., Kahoot, Quizizz) resonate with students' familiarity with digital environments, making therapy sessions more appealing and relatable.
