This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a professional school counselor serving in a Title I high school, where the majority of my students face overwhelming challenges every single day. Many of the teens I support have experienced intense and complex trauma, and they carry the weight of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and, in some cases, self-harm tendencies.

For many of them, school is the only place where they feel seen, safe, and supported.

As we begin a new school year, I am working to create a therapeutic space that offers comfort, regulation tools, and emotional support; something they can rely on when everything else feels out of control.

The materials in this project will help me build that safe space and provide the trauma-informed care my students so desperately need. Your generosity will directly impact students who often go unnoticed but deserve every bit of compassion and care.

My students are resilient, courageous teens who face overwhelming challenges daily. Despite trauma, poverty, and instability, they show up with strength and hope. They deserve a space that supports their emotional well-being and helps them thrive.
