My Students
I am the ESL teacher at my school. All of my students speak another language at home, and MANY of them come to this country without any English speaking skills.
My students come here from a variety of places, such as Bangladesh, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
Many of them don't speak English. My job is to help them acquire speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English, but I can't be with them all the time. That's why these headsets are so important!
My Project
At key times throughout the day, these English language learners can continue their English language education through the use of technology. The students will use these headsets with the computer program Rosetta Stone. This program is designed to teach English listening, speaking, and reading skills. It understands your voice and aids with pronunciation. It is a world renowned program that the students will surely benefit from- if they ever get to use it.
That's where you come in.
We need these headsets to get our ELLs going on Rosetta Stone. Without the headsets, the program is useless, and the kids are really missing out. In order to use the program in their classrooms, they need to do it quietly. The headsets will allow them to do that. I want to put the program in 16 classrooms. Please help me accomplish that goal.
