Headsets for 21st Century Learners

My students need headsets to help them do all the things that will make them successful in this 21st century learning environment.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of students from the heart of Bed-Stuy Brooklyn growing up in low income families. My students are creative, thoughtful innovative and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

They are eager to learn when it comes to technology and, as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage their world.

My Project

Using technology in the classroom is nothing new, but with equipment that is more advanced, teachers and students can benefit by how it's being used. My students will be able to use headsets with microphones in the classroom for learning apps, educational programs and language learning. Every child learns at their own pace and they can benefit by being able to interact and participate in activities at a comfortable pace.

Headsets can help with many interactive learning activities and curriculum in the classroom.

Many of the latest language programs that we use in the classroom are designed to help students with their pronunciations and they allow students to easily speak into the headset for direct interaction with the desired program.

Students can also utilize headsets for presentations in front of the class which allow their classmates to hear them better. Some kids may speak softly, making it difficult for others to hear them, but using headsets with built-in microphones can help their voices be clearer. Students will also be able to use apps that use text to speech when writing.

Headsets with an attached microphone have many uses in a classroom and can help teachers and educators create individual learning plans to cater to different student needs and requirements. Students spend 75% of their school day involved in listening activities. Their primary channel for learning is hearing. The better children can hear, the more they can learn.
