Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Once my school district closed the school buildings I had to come up with ways to keep my students learning. It was challenging and continues to have a few challenges. I had little time to prepare and jump into this virtual teaching world. However, every day I learn a little bit more.
Covid-19 closed my school building, but it has not shut down our learning.
At home, I have recreated a classroom environment, so when I have my virtual meetings with my students it gives them a bit of familiarity when it comes to their learning environment. The middle of my living room has a classroom growing and expanding as the days go by.
My students continue to inspire me to look for different ways to make our lessons come alive. It is a bit challenging not to have all my regular "tools" to accomplish that, but we try out best.
My Project
Constantly trying to make sure my volume is loud enough when I speak but soft enough to prevent extra sounds from being picked up can really ruin a lesson. The headset I am asking for will prevent this from happening. It cancels all surrounding sounds and catches my voice so my students can hear me perfectly clear.
My students deserve to hear their lessons without distracting sounds and to be able to clearly hear my voice during our zoom sessions.
With the headset, not only will it help me deliver my lessons but will also increase student attention and participation.
