This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative, curious, and resilient. They come to school eager to learn despite facing many challenges. In school, my students shine; their leadership abilities and many talents are fostered.
In my student-led classroom, the kids are in charge of their learning.
Everyday my students practice the skills they need to become leaders, problem solvers, and innovators! They lead classroom discussions, tackle multistep math problems, and complete design challenges.
My job is to give my super second graders the tools and guidance they need to flourish as learners and leaders. The biggest challenge I face is meeting all of their differing needs! With the right tools and technology, I can do this much more effectively.
My Project
I am thrilled to become a 1:1 classroom because this technology will open new learning opportunities for my students. Each of my students will have a personal laptop to access individualized math lessons on programs like i-Ready and Nearpod. In science, my students will use the devices to research topics, complete projects, and access their textbook online.
To take full advantage of the 1:1 devices, my students will need their own set of headphones to help them focus and study at their own pace, without distractions.
This tool would be used daily to access videos, lessons, programs, and material online to better differentiate my instruction to meet each students individual needs. Headphones are a simple tool that would have a huge impact!
