This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have so little, and I want to give them so much more now more than ever. A vast majority of my students come from homes below the poverty line, and I want them to have the chance to experience something that can influence their lives.
Covid -19 is teaching us how to stay together while apart but most importantly it is teaching us how important it is to help encourage and support our students in becoming independent learners.
My Project
This project is looking to provide headphones to students that need to limit the distractions around them while at home.
Many student households are sharing spaces with other family members and students may benefit from using the headphones to reduce any background noise and focus on the lesson that is on the screen.
This project is also looking to provide snacks to the students while at home. For many years, during in person learning I have provided snacks, juices, waters and candy to those who needed or wanted it.
I want to continue and extend this opportunity to our students that will continue to learn remotely.
