My Students

Every day my students use the computer center to complete various skills programs in both English Language Arts and Math. They use Lexia for Phonics, Successmaker for English Language Arts and Fast Math. Due to all the different programs being used at once it is important to have headphones.

My students are in a specialized classroom with a variety of disabilities such as Autism, Developmental Delays and Communication Disabilities.

They also come from a high poverty district. Due to budget cuts last year our IT department was given virtually no budget. Therefore, items such as headphones are not available once they are broken. My students due to behavioral issues and sensory issues can break headphones.

My Project

The students will use headphones daily in order to complete daily computer programs in English Language Arts and Math. The headphones will enable them to concentrate on the program they are working on, rather than focusing on what friends are doing next to them. It also decreases excess noise in the classroom to enable them to focus.

The headphones in my classroom will make a difference in the students ability to complete computer work.

This will allow to concentrate on their individual work. This will decrease auditory stimuli around them to enable them to focus on progam.
