Headphones Keep Students Focused!

Help me give my students headphones to wear when working on their Chromebooks, as well as audio splitters so that students can share a Chromebook and watch tutorials and educational videos together.

My Students

I teach an energetic and spirited group of 6th-grade students. In our school community, teachers and staff value each student as a whole person. Their interests, backgrounds, struggles, and successes - both in school and in the community - are what make our school a more unique and special place. The students and staff value diversity of all people and strive to make our school an inclusive environment where all students are empowered and can develop their greatest potential. My students are budding athletes, world travelers, mathematicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers, authors, doctors, musicians... They are our future, and I want to give them a great start to their journey of life-long learning.

My Project

My students need headphones and audio splitters! Right now, our 6th grade class shares a limited number of Chromebooks with the other 6th grade. There are not enough Chromebooks for each student to use their own, so they are used in small groups. Sometimes the volume on an educational video or learning program can be distracting to other working students; but if the volume is too low, then the students who are working on the laptops are not benefitting from the technology.

Here's where the headphones and audio splitters will help!

Students will wear the headphones when they work individually on the Chromebooks, allowing them to hear the content and focus on the work without distracting others. When students need to work in pairs or triads, the audio splitters allow them all to listen to and watch the same educational video on one laptop!
