My Project
My 12th grade US Government students each have unique ways of learning in the classroom. One size fits all does not apply in my classroom. In order to meet each student's individual needs, I plan to create playlists which will allow students to create their own learning pathway and work at their own pace. Individualized learning requires the use of working headphones with which students can watch short videos on their devices and record audio responses while remaining in the classroom space.
A quality pair of headphones with a microphone would make the use of differentiation via playlists in my classroom possible.
If I knew that each student had a reliable pair of headphones in the classroom, I could initiate this new instructional practice in my classroom. Students who work at a slower pace can use the headphones in their devices and watch short videos at a slower playback speed and rewind or fast forward as needed. The ability to access online tasks at their own pace may give my struggling students more confidence to participate in the learning. I believe that headphones with a microphone can be a game changer for my students.
