This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 2nd-grade students are an amazing group of children from a very diverse inner-city school in Lowell, MA. They love learning. They love coming to school each day and I love being able to teach them. Many of my students face incredible challenges each and every day, yet they come to school with an open heart and an open mind. So much of what we do in our day-to-day, both inside and outside of school, is all for our students. From spending our own money to asking for support from families and local programs. It is an honor to be able to do this job each and every day, and I just want to provide my students with as many opportunities as I can because they don't often get that outside of school. Our classroom is our home, our community, and our family. Thank you, DonorsChoose for giving me this chance. I love my job and I am blessed to have donors like you.
My Project
Our students need new headphones to go along with their Chromebooks that have been amazing for remote learning. Every child in our city was given a Chromebook but now that we are back in school (for now) we are struggling to use the Chromebooks at the same time because we don't have very many pairs of working headphones. We would love to be able to gift our students with new headphones so that they can work on their Chromebooks throughout the day and not have to tune out background noise as well.
