My Students

As a veteran teacher at a Title 1/iZone school located in a low-income/high-poverty community, I am well aware of the many challenges that my students face every day, both in and outside of the classroom. I am also aware of their enthusiasm for learning, their tremendous potential for high achievement, and their brilliant creativity.

My students shine brightest when they work creatively and collaboratively.

They demonstrate great pride in their work, celebrating their growth and improvement while challenging themselves and each other to exceed expectations.

My Project

My students need a classroom set six headphone amps and 20 headphones plus six adapters for small group work on iPads, allowing them to control their own educational media and work at their own pace. We are fortunate to have access to an iPad cart at my school. And it goes without saying that my students love working with the iPads when they have the opportunity. We have already incorporated programs such as Edmodo, Quizlet, and Socrative to our list of resources and would like to be able to increase our options for small group work.

A classroom set of headphones and headphone amps will provide my students with complete control of their educational media as they work in small groups with their iPads.

Each small group of up to four students will be able to share a device while having individual control over volume.

Students will be able to work at their own pace as they access video and audio content, develop musical compositions on Garage Band, and create multimedia presentations, all without disturbing neighboring groups. The headphones and amps also lend themselves well to differentiation and blended learning opportunities. These materials will dramatically improve our learning environment and we will be very grateful for your support!
