I am a Technology Lab Teacher that services 500 K-5 students per week. I service many students with special needs, students who are English language learners and students who receive free and reduced lunch.
I strive to have a media-rich classroom environment. I expect my students to research various topics on the Internet to complete content-heavy projects in Science, Social Studies, Math and Literacy. Many of the websites I guide them to have audio content. My students who struggle with reading online text and who are English language learners are guided to websites with text that is read to them. In order for students to listen without hearing other student's web quests, they need a way to listen peacefully, without distractions.
With the addition of a class set of stereo headphones, my technology classes will be able to research and complete computer assignments independently, without the distraction of the audio of other computers.
