This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a high poverty neighborhood where 99% of them receive free lunch. All my students love coming to school! In school, they are provided with a safe structured learning environment.
My students work to their fullest potential.
They learn by listening intently, asking questions, trying their hardest on classwork and projects. They never give up. My students understand that they are all different and enjoy helping each other. They deserve everything needed to give them a proper education.
My Project
My students are given the opportunity to practice new skills through the use of technology. They learn Reading, Writing, Phonics, Grammar, Spelling, Math, Science and Social Studies concepts. Their assignments coincide with new skills they learn in class.
My students love learning with technology, but have trouble with focusing.
Imagine, sitting in a classroom where twelve sets of speakers are playing at once. This is a struggle that my students deal with every day. They are so excited to do their work, but often complain that they can't hear what they need to do.
Headphones will promote better learning in our classroom. With headphones, they can learn new concepts and follow directions more efficiently. During learning centers my students are given technology assignments that must be completed by the end of the week. Headphones will give them the luxury of a silent environment.
Headphones not only help my students on the computers, but they also help students in other learning centers. When half my class completes technology assignment the other half participates in learning center activities. Although they enjoy these activities they get distracted by the technology.
