This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with about 80 English Learners in 5th and 6th grade who have experienced interrupted classroom instruction due to the pandemic.

English Learners excel when they are given hands-on instruction.

Now that students are back in the classroom, I am working with several small groups to provide personalized and interactive lessons.

My Project

This project will buy headphones with a microphone to help my students learning English to practice their listening and speaking skills. In school, students have time to work in different centers to practice various skills. Students do not have personal headphones, so our classroom becomes very loud with several students listening to their computers and speaking at the same time. This always makes it difficult for students to hear and record their voices.

English Learners need extensive listening and speaking practice.

Headphones will help students access websites for listening and speaking when they're in class and to practice at home.
