Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Since birth many of my students have faced adversity. They have had to deal with the unknown on a regular basis. I try to give my students a safe space where they can focus on what matters the most, their futures. These students have been through the ringer, many of them are English Language Learners, single parent households, and many of them are their primary babysitters while parent(s) are at work. I can't even imagine.
I typically pull 7 small groups in a 90 minute block, and cannot pull those groups while I am testing individual students, so having headphones with microphones will allow me to listen to them reading outside of block time, thus allowing me to provide feedback and flexible grouping where applicable.
These headphones will be used daily for independent work, as well as studying English for my English Language Learners as well.
