My Students
My students are brilliant, engaging, and hardworking 4th and 5th graders who are part of our school's dual language program. These incredible students learn in Vietnamese half of their day and in English the other half. I have the privilege of teaching these bright and interesting young people each day.
The goal in our classroom is for all students to learn while also seeing themselves as learners who are ready to take on new challenges.
Our classroom community is filled with students who are excited about learning. My school is located in a low-income area; 85% of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch. The neighborhood is a mixture of cultures, first and second generation immigrants as well as students and families who have called it home for generations. It is an incredible group of families, students, teachers, and community partners.
My Project
Throughout our school day, students have the opportunity to utilize many online and computer based instructional resources that help me meet the unique needs of each of my students. In order to do this well, my students need headphones to access these programs in math, reading, and other content areas.
By receiving headphones that work properly and fit my students, they will be able to access excellent resources to maximize learning!
My bright and engaging students need the right tools in order to grow as learners. For example, during math instruction and reading workshop, students may access iReady (an online resource) to receive targeted instruction based on specific standards identified as growth areas for that child. By having headphones, students can access what they need when they need it.
