My students need headphones for our classroom laptops so that they can listen to online books being read aloud and practice math by having instructions read aloud.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Kaplan's classroom raised $211

My Students
Teaching a classroom with two different grade levels in it is tricky! My school invests in online resources to help students be independent during work times, but these resources can be loud! Headphones will put the sound right in my students' ears while others can work without being disturbed.
I work in a low income school near Shoreline, WA.
This year, I have a combined classroom of 1st and 2nd graders. I have 13 first graders and 8 second graders. These children have a diverse set of needs, many of whom are English Language Learners or struggling learners.
My Project
Students will use these headphones when they are practicing their reading and math online. They will do programs in which they can read books online, listen to stories, and take comprehension quizzes. They will also practice math on a program where they can solidify the math skills that have been taught in their whole group lessons.
In order to meet the standards of both grade levels, I have taught my students to be independent workers.
My first graders complete independent work while I teach my second graders, and then we switch. They are eager, independent learners, and I want to give them all the tools they need to be successfully independent!
