My students need headphones to work on computer based problems with Khan Academy on their Chromebooks.

My Students

Our school serves 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. We are constantly pushing our students to deepen their understanding and be better people. What's interesting about our school is the split in social economic status. We have students who come from well off families but then we have students who come from families that barely make enough to get by. This split makes for interesting work. We are constantly working to make sure each child has access to the supplies and resources they need to be successful. It is a constant fight for equity.

My Project

My students need headphones to work on computer based problems on Khan Academy. Students use Khan Academy to review math skills from past years as well as spiral back to material covered throughout the school year. As students work, I'm able to circulate and help most students, but it would be helpful if students could watch the videos on Khan to help them figure out how to do it on their own. My students are at a point where they need to learn to seek out help on their own and become more independent. Being able to access the "help" videos would give them a pathway to seek out help if I'm not available and their partner doesn't know.
