This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students learn at a STEAM (the "A" is for art) school in Southern California, with 450 students and counting! My students are budding scientists, mathematicians, critical thinkers and artists. This is a highly impressive group of second graders. Many of them are working above grade level!

My industrious students like to sing, rap, dance, speak and listen!

They do not sit back and hope learning seeps in. They are in charge of their learning and take an active role in their education!

My Project

As a school of technology (STEAM), we have many great programs our students can access for extra practice via iPads. These programs are adaptive and engaging. What we need are headphones so that students can hear corrective feedback and high interest sound effects!

I have six students using iPads at a time, so it would be quite distracting for all students if they were hearing six different sound effects and robot voices simultaneously!

We need headphones so the students who need to hear can hear, and those working on other tasks don't get distracted by silly and loud program sound effects!
