Our classroom is full of movement and energy and bursting with literacy-based instruction. We begin each day with literacy-based activities and students love choosing their own reading materials, including graphic novels, magazines and nonfiction books.
My students are an energetic group with boys outnumbering girls in the classroom in a 2:1 ratio.
They love having choice in their learning environment and are happy to be buddies with first grade students and help one another out. They respect our classroom, each other and the school and love coming to school each day.
My Project
We have 18 laptops in our classroom that are regularly in use by the students. The students watch videos, play instructional games, and complete technology-based literacy activities. Having headphones will help students focus on their own work while they're working on self-paced instruction.
Right now, our headphones are very old and most of them are missing the cushiony parts that make them comfortable to wear or are broken.
Students love working on technology projects and would be so fortunate to have enough headphones for all students to listen to their lessons privately!
